Tucked along the Waihi–Coromandel route, the recently renovated Native Tree Café is a favourite roadside stop for travellers seeking excellent coffee, outstanding homemade pies and freshly baked muffins. Friendly, fast service, a clean, welcoming outdoor setting and pet-friendly atmosphere make it ideal for families and road trippers. Plenty of parking and an on-site nursery add to the charm. While staff are attentive about cross-contamination, fully Coeliac-friendly options are limited, so customers with strict gluten-free needs should take care.

We stopped for lunch but unfortunately the restaurant is not Coeliac friendly, so we had to leave. We have dined here before but it seems like there are new owners now.
Loved it nice little spot to stop for a coffee some food and relax
The café/nursery has recently changed ownership and has been renovated. The food is made fresh and simple, with the pies being particularly outstanding. The muffins are often baked right before our coffee orders. The atmosphere is great, so keep up the good work!
