What Julie McDonald doesn't like about The Waimate:
Went to see the Highway men in Waimate..thought we would go to dinner before..not the best..they did warm is there was no chief tonight...waitresses were lovely, food was not...chips had lots of seasoning...barley edible and not much on the winter menus...no soup..no lamb shanks...no casserole options...each to their own I suppose...oh and cabinet meringue had a musty taste..I did ask if they had pout truffle essence... What an absolute oasis this place is, the food is exceptional, the building is really cool but the best part about this place is the service... as Tina said Simply the best small town NZ with the service at least equal with anything else in the country... if your in Waimate, there really is only one place to dine.. This was possibly the best restaurant i have ever been too, my family and I’s food and drinks was absolutely amazing, and the manager was insanely friendly and funny, i definitely recommend this place to everyone Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
