However, I can't give the tour a full 5 stars because the group was... read more I really enjoyed my time at Balcones, and the tour guide was both amusing and well-informed. However, I can't give the tour a full 5 stars because the group was much too large. I had thought the maximum size was supposed to be 10 people, but we had 16 in our group. This made it difficult to hear the guide at times, and the tasting room was incredibly crowded with barely any space to move around.

When I retur... read more This is a must-visit every time I'm in Waco. After enjoying a couple of tasting flights, I brought home a bottle of their rye whiskey and loved it. When I returned, I treated myself to another tasting and picked up another bottle. This is the best whiskey I've found in Texas. The distillery offers whiskey tastings, a full bar with cocktails made from their spirits, and even beers. There's also a gift shop featuring their glasses, branded shirts, hats, and a few books. They provide tours, have a reasonably sized parking lot, and across the street are a couple of restaurants and a cookie shop.
