Amma's South Indian Cuisine

Last week, we discovered this hidden gem. The food was absolutely fantastic. We ordered their tiffin combos so got to try a wide variety of menu items and everything was awesome. The ambience was inviting, with tasteful decor; especially the swings. However, it was not only the food or ambiance that impressed us; our gracious and attentive hostess, Vaishnavi, truly elevated our dining experience. Her genuine warmth and dedication to providing top-notch service were evident from the moment we were seated. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to cater to our preferences made us feel like cherished guests. Overall, a remarkable experience and we can’t wait to go back.

What a great find! I am not one to usually seek out a dosa place or go searching for Indian food when eating out with my parents, I actually rarely go for dosas, but this place was a genuine and exciting surprise. The staff was very friendly, warm, and welcoming very attentive. We ordered the Papdi Chat, Dahi Poori, Masala Sosa and Amma's Special Dosa with onions, cheese, and chili filling The food was excellent; while driving by you could have easily missed this small place sorta smushed between bigger stores in this shopping complex, but we are glad we didn't. The food was authentic, excellently flavored, with what I think was the perfect amount of spice (which means for an Indian family it was enjoyable, we noted the spice and kick, needed a little rest and sips of our drinks, but it never overtook the meal; but if you dont handle or appreciate spicy foods, would ask them to try and tamper it . The dosa was crisp and flaky, but the Samba and chutneys were the highlight for me each bringing out very different notes and providing a specific and distinct flavor that jumped off your palate It is rare to find a place you would call very very authentic while at the same time a place I would not hesitate to bring someone completely new to or perhaps unfamiliar with Indian cuisine; it is a perfect introduction and accurate representation Definitely plan on returning often. Most of the restaurants do close late afternoon and we were glad that Amma’s was open. Delicious food. Friendly service. We ordered Idly , masala dosa and filter coffee. Special Shout-out to Anusha who was helping us get the food and making sure everything is good. Will visit again.

WARNING!!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Even if you do decide to order, make sure to inspect your receipts very carefully! I normally don't leave negative reviews, but my experience here was truly awful. I came hoping for the same quality I found at their Philly locations, which are fantastic. Unfortunately, the service at this location was dismal. We ordered takeout and they called to notify us of a replacement dish. However, when we arrived to pick it up, they hadn’t updated the receipt and tried to charge us for the original, more expensive order instead (the replacement was actually cheaper). Additionally, they charge more for takeout than for dining in. When I raised my concerns, the staff at the register just smiled at each other and said, “It’s only a small difference.” This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable!
