What Eberhard Münster doesn't like about Etruria:
The service gives the impression that it is a day of mourning. The risotto was nothing, at best it was rice with tomato sauce and a bit of mussels. The lamb chops were soggy. Conclusion: Apart from the toilet, which is very clean and large, there is little positive to write about. The rest (i.e. service staff and food) was rather below average. It's a shame to paint the ceiling frescoes white. Nice historic place, tourist dishes and menus, no prices. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Splendid restaurant in the picturesque Piazza dei Priori in Volterra. Traditional menu, not touristy and with more than correct prices, corresponding to the quality of the food. We were here on a Saturday evening, without having booked we were welcomed and found a seat. As an appetizer we ordered a delicious bruschetta with guacamole and cherry tomatoes, followed by a Volterrana soup and spaghetti with pesto and pine nuts. Beautiful warm and enveloping atmosphere, the place has an ancient charm, with a splendid frescoed ceiling. Vegetarian options: The Volterrana soup is excellent: mixed vegetables with toasted croutons. Light but filling!
