If you are not a fan of chain restaurants as I am not, then this is a great place for you!  I LOVE that NOTHING is fried or reheated in the microwave.&nbsp... read more If you are not a fan of chain restaurants as I am not, then this is a great place for you!  I LOVE that NOTHING is fried or reheated in the microwave.  Everything is flame-grilled and made fresh.  The kitchen is open to viewing.  You can watch your food from cooking, to plate, to table.  I'm not a wine drinker, but have dined several times with friends who are, and they claim the wine bar is tops.  You get a tab and can get and try as many different wines as you'd like, your choice.  Service has always been excellent for our visits.  Firebrew offers a loyalty rewards program.  If you sign up, which I recommend, you let them know you are a rewards participant when you eat there.  You receive award certificates for accumulation of a number of points, for your birthday and for the anniversary of becoming a participating program member.  The vouchers are good for an entree of equal or lesser... read more

Several good local beers on tap, including Young Veterans, Smartmouth, Reaver beach, and O?Connor. The bartender was pleasant and helpful. The waiter, Josh, wasfriendly and attentive. He offered suggestions and helped direct us through the menu. The manager came by our table twice as hemade his rounds. He tried to answer my question about how the chef achieved such a perfect sear on their scallops. They wereseared on just one side to a golden brown with just a hint of crispy. We ordered the seasonal seared scallops and the shrimp &scallop Florentine. Both were delicious. The scallops were perfect and the shrimp were so tasty. The Florentine was my favorite.We loved the flatbread and the seared tuna apps. We left with several boxes and vowed to return.

The fries were weirdly kind of burnt but kind of under done (they tasted fine though. It's aproduct of being roasted rather than fried). Owner is a navy veteran and has lived in VA Beach since around 1998 (according tothe bio on the table).
