The problem was that everything I had came plastered with gravy. So always ask for gravy on the side. A super sweet waitress and the place was packed. Give it a try y'all

Stupendous Comfor Food My husband and I were passing through town and decided to stop here for dinner because this was supposedly the place to dine back in the day. We both ordered chicken fried steak, but had different sides. I was pleasantlysurprised at how amazing everything tasted. All fresh, well seasoned, and prepared. The food here is better than a lot of thefancy places in Dallas. Service was exceptional and the owner was very personable and welcoming. This will now be our go toplace whenever we travel this way.
This is a must for comfort food! I have been coming here for over 35 years, but they have been in Vinita since 1927 and now a RT 66 don 't miss Icon. It hasn 't changed much all the years I have been dining here. Still large portions, perfectly preparedwith warm friendly service reasonable prices. Always busy, but we have never felt rushed. My personal favorites are the RT 66Breakfast, Country Fried Chicken, Hot Hamburger Plate and always a slice of Pie I usually have to take my pie togo . Clanton 's Cafe has been recognized by more ' Foodie groups ' than I even knew existed. Just ask anyone in the guest book ora local and they will tell you the same... Unless of course they 're not wanting to loose their usual seat or that last slice ofpie to you : . Yes, it 's that good.
Featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, this is a Famous Route 66 restaurant. Great people, great food, cute restaurant. It is known for its chicken fried steak but I had the pot roast. It was perfect.
