Visited Vinci twice this year with different family members and had lunch both times in this excellent Caffè. The food was excellent served by extremely friendly and and helpful staff. I would recommend this cafe to anyone visiting this wonderful Tuscan village. I don 't know who was responsible for the English lesson originally but 'cheers mate ' seems an appropriate comment to make regarding our two visits. Highly recommended.
We have been coming to Tuscany for 27 years with our family including our son who is autistic and has a Learning disability. He wanted to sit inside as we had last year. The staff refused because they were only using the outside. When he simply sat down inside they became very agitated and told us to move. I explained the situation (in Italian) but the waitress said it was too hot for her to manage in and outside despite the table inside being next to the kitchen. I offered to take the drink to him but again she refused. Our son was very upset, made worse by him getting lost on the way to the toilet upstairs. The proprietress then told me that we should put our son in an institution or hospital permanently as “he has no life and you have no life”. I told her that never in the 27 years of visiting had I heard such attitudes expressed by anyone in Tuscany either in shops, hotels restaurants etc . In fact the complete opposite. So I would advise that if you have a strong moral compass, you care about human rights, or you have a disability yourself, do not patronise this cafe.
This place is right outside the exit of the Museum. Simple food well done in beautiful surroundings with great views. The hosts were extremely welcoming in fact, it was almost like you’d wandered into someone’s home for a bite to eat. One of the highlights of our week in Tuscany.
A very special cafe in Vinci located near the tower museum, we visited wanting to grab some caffeine and a light lunch and they wildly exceeded our expectations. The food was particularly noteworthy, it’s difficult to find bad food in Tuscany, but for a cafe they really go the extra mile with each dish. Special shoutout to the saucy beans and sausage which we are going to ATTEMPT to recreate at home, as well the the Bruschetta which was one of a kind and delicious! Not to mention the friendly staff who were gracious and very patient with our Italian pronunciations Hope to visit again some day!
