What Pamela Faber doesn't like about El Bandido:
Been going to El bandido for over 40 years. Loved everything about it. The owner was as nice a person as you could find. Service and entertainment made it a great experience. Food was top shelf with great variety. Ate there last night. Food was very disappointing. Kids took it over and changed the menu.. Very dry and no flavor. Old saying, “ if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.Sad to say, not going back. View all feedback.
I've been going to the Spring Valley NY location with my wife and friends for decades. This is (was) the best Mexican food anywhere (I travel a lot and have eaten Mexican food all across the Country and in Mexico). Today, my wife called to place an order to be picked up, which we have done in the past and she was told that that location has closed. I hope this isn't true as Google still shows it open. If this location has indeed closed, it is a very sad day for us. The food and staff have always been excellent. Their sangria is (was) unparalleled along with their salsas, chips, rice, quesadillas, bunuelos and every entree I've ever eaten there. Oh! of course the 43! Thank you all for all of the great times and food.
Randomly stopped here trying to go to Chipotle with kids on Father’s Day 3.5hrs into a 7hrs trip. So glad we stopped. So fun! Great food, very friendly service, fun music, well worth the stop!
The food was the best. As a hispanic this is extremely authentic food and it is cooked to perfection. The service is extremely good and me and my family loved it. The waitress was the nicest guy out there. To be honest, I ordered a burrito and it came out so good. I I could I would eat there every day best Mexican food in the area?
I grew up eating Mexican food in Texas and moving back to NJ, I couldn't find any remotely good Mexican food until I went to Bandido! I live an hour away and will always make the hike for their food. The chips, salsa, and quesadillas are always fresh, and as a vegetarian, they are always more than accommodating with vegetarian options. I love the Tex Mex burrito with extra chipotle ranch and jalapenos, the refried beans and rice are some of the best I've ever had, and their drinks are always tasty (and knock me off my feet). I recommend this place to anyone with a serious Mexican craving- nothing else in the Tri-State compares! Vegetarian options: Any of the burritos, fajitas, tacos, can be subbed with a veggie mix or peppers and onions. Owner is very knowledgeable of what has chicken stock or other meat products in it, so no accidental consumption
