Funky Java - Feedback

Was Enter Alvarado at Funky Java a mag?
Larry, the owner, makes you feel like you've known him for decades, which is a rare quality these days. I can’t praise him, the coffee, or the shop enough. I even signed my name in Arabic on his statue—it’s part of a fun tradition, not the Arabic itself. They also host live music events. Everything about this place is just so cool. Go, Larry! What A Corrine K dislikes about Funky Java:
Not impressed in the slightest. Businesses with dim lights are always messy and gross, and this place is no exception. While the guy at the counter was nice, I was given a cup of milk when I ordered a latte. I came back in to get another shot and it still was the weakest coffee I've ever drank. At least it was cheap. I can clearly see why. View all feedback.

The coffee here is fantastic, and the staff are patient and attentive when it comes to food allergies. The ambiance of the place is really enjoyable. You can even have a vegan pumpkin spice latte! I was pleasantly surprised to find live music on a Monday evening. I'm really excited about this new addition to the neighborhood!
This place has the best coffee around! It surpasses all the big-name chains and trendy spots. If you appreciate good coffee and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place for you. Larry, the owner, is a true find. I really hope Villa Park values this little gem! It perfectly captures everything I love about living here—it's a bit quirky and offers a lot of quality. Owner is a wonderful man and incredibly friendly to talk to! in a world where coffee shops are now focused on speed vs connection, this the epitome of og coffee shop culture. i got the iced chai, and my partner got the iced mocha. both were absolutely delicious Service: Take out Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Funky Java in Villa Park stands out as a warm, community-centered coffee spot where the friendly owner, Larry, creates a welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of classic coffee culture. The café delights with expertly crafted, affordable drinks, from smooth espressos to flavorful iced lattes, complemented by vibrant local artwork and mellow music. It’s more than a coffee shop—hosting live events and fostering connections among locals. While some may find the ambiance dim, most praise the genuine hospitality and cozy vibe that make Funky Java a beloved gathering place for friends, families, and coffee lovers seeking quality and comfort in every cup.

Fantastic coffee shop! The latte was excellent, and the owner was extremely friendly.
Great atmosphere, nice folks, and excellent hot chocolate. A wonderful little community coffee shop.
I stopped by this restaurant while waiting for my appointment at the nearby Quest Diagnostics, and I highly recommend it to others. The coffee is fantastic, and the atmosphere is incredibly friendly!

This is a fantastic spot. The owner is a friendly guy who is easy to chat with. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the hospitality is exceptional. The espresso is smooth and has a nice hint of sweetness. The prices are incredibly affordable—I spent less than $3. Overall, I definitely plan to return.
The vibe was on point as soon as I walked in. Locals chatting it up, free smells, and local artwork everywhere you look. Funky Java not only serves great coffee, but they also constantly support and encourage members of their community. It is a great space to relax, study, or get together with a group of friends. The owner and barista is always giving his customers the best experience, it is impossible to not smile in this establishment. Thank you Funky Java for making the small town of Villa Park a happier place.
Larry is the man, the man with the good coffee. I have enjoyed his craft since a young child (cooked hot chocolate). Thanks for keeping your doors open! Long live the funky Java
The best time you have the best variety in TOWN! Dunkin? Why does Funky Java bother with this constantly burned tasting jar, brewed by FAR with more care and precision Starbucks? A crazy long line with crazy prices and constant Out of Stock problems, come here for an adorable latte to power through your morning. I officially made a switch. Neither these chains can be the charm, mood, community and love that this place can. The heart of Villa Park is here. Much more merit and value, trust me!
What a fantastic place! I gathered with my siblings and mom before heading home for the week. We were greeted by the owner, who was wonderful! With 26 years of experience, it's clear he knows what he's doing. Everyone who walked in felt the warmth, making this café feel like a second home for many.
