Taberna Da Julinha

I loved the restaurant, food, and service. After a train trip from Porto to Pocinho, we arrived just in time to have lunch at Taberna da Julinha. Air conditioning in the room, tables beautifully set. Very clean room. I was welcomed with nice smiles by Julinha and her husband. The omelet with asparagus was delicious and fresh. The oxheart tomato salad was the best I have tasted during my vacation. The owner told me they are produced in Pocinho. The meat was tender and very tasteful. It was accompanied with red bean rice with sauce. It was the first time I eat this delicious Portuguese rice and will definitely come back to Taberna da Julinha. It’s like coming to paradise. And the white “maduro” wine was excellent. When some restaurants became famous, that happened because customers made them famous. Careful, because the same customers can make them famous by the worst reasons as well. Everything was great. All of the ingredients were simple, but with quality. As all ingredients were fresh, they gave a wonderful taste without many seasonings. Tasty vegetables and tasty meet. Tasty dessert, I had a fresh cheese with pumpkin jam (even bought a pumpkin jam back home). The service was very nice. The owner tried to make sure that everything went well. The toilets were clean.

Tivemos o cuidado de ligar para a mesa de reserva, achei muito interessante o cuidado da senhora para informar o conceito da casa, bem como o valor para pagar por pessoa. A comida maravilhosa, bem mobilada em um espaço familiar, muito limpo e muito atento. Temos muito prazer em continuar a viagem através do douro.
