What Edgar Andrade doesn't like about Aldeia Douro:
It's never easy to open a Restaurant/winebar like this one in small and interior city like Vila Nova de Foz Côa. However it could be possible if you know the the way it's rough and complicated. Still a lot to do in every aspect. Since the service, a little bit slow and sometimes not knowing what to do or forgetting what was asked to some essential training in wine serving and pairing. Food is still average, with some... View all feedback.
Muito bom! Espaço agradável, com bom gosto e acolhedor. Atendimento impecável! Comida não tão típica da região, mas igualmente saborosa! Recomendo!
This restaurant is just off the main road and has a sitting area outside. The menu is not extensive but is imaginative. The chefs are all young women who looked very dedicated and focussed on preparation and cooking. Ask for a table by the hatch so you can watch the team work. The waiters are a bit clueless as English is not their first language. With a bit of patience, you can get an excellent meal here. The desserts we had were comparable to a big city restaurant. Very reasonable by Porto standards. Weekend reservation a must as it is not a very big restaurant. The bar area looks friendly and welcoming. Probably the best in Foz Côa!

Come for the food, not for the atmosphere. Unfortunately the dining room is stark. It is not separated in any way from the bar area in the front, so the dining room is loud. Also, good luck finding the restaurant. It's just a bit off the major street and the sign in front is not illuminated. I walked right past on the other side of the street without seeing it. Now for the good news: the food. I was not interested in any of the few main dishes on the menu, so I went for petiscos. What I had was excellent. I went for three items: a tabua mixta, asparagus with almond and honey, and a mixed salad. My visit to the town coincided with the annual almond festival. Vendors had stalls lining many of the streets, quite a few of which were selling local cured meats and cheeses. It was very nice to be able to sample the excellent items on the restaurant's tabua mixta. The asparagus dish was a very pleasantly surprising mix of flavors. Even the dressing on the green salad was better than expected. All this plus a nice bottle of a local wine came to only €23.10. The dining room is not very large and it filled up quite early; make a reservation.
Excelente atendimento, belíssima refeição. A repetir
