I 've been in this place several times and everytime it makes me want to come back again. the atmosphere is very nice, the palce looks like a good wine shop but... read more I 've been in this place several times and everytime it makes me want to come back again. the atmosphere is very nice, the palce looks like a good wine shop but it is actually also a delicious restaurant. there is a good menu with some meat dishes and also some vegetarian choice, and also there are temporary dishes called out of menu ; both the choiches are made with first class ingredients and well prepared and presented. there are also very good wines, lots of them are also affordable. the waiters are kind and answer every questuon you may ask them about food and beverages. the price is very good, for example last time we were 2 and we took 2 starters, 2 main dishes, 2 slices of cake, a coffe and a bottle of wine for 52€.

So, we order a bottle of wine from... read more My wife and I visited Vespolina Snc when we arrived in Vigevano. We expected a restaurant, but discovered it was a wine bar. So, we order a bottle of wine from Sicily which was very inexpensive, but also excellent. In fact, we ordered another bottle to have on our travels. To go with our wine I ordered the roast beef with vegetables sandwich and my wife ordered the verdura with bean sprouts. Both were wonderful and we ordered another sandwich which we shared. Our waiter, who I believe is a co-owner really took the time to explain to us the items on the menu and of course the wine. We also had an opportunity to talk to him which is something we try to do, to learn more about the experience of those who live and work in Italy. He was very friendly and willing to share since we were there very early and they were not busy. There is an incredible wine list which is located on a smart phone. We returned on Sunday, but unfortunately we didn't have a reservation and they were full. We will be back to Vigevano and we will be sure not to miss the opportunity to visit this wonderful wine bar again.

Not to mention high level service with a smile. Will always remember and have a beautiful memory that will stay close to my heart. For two couples who appreciate good food and service but wanted primarily to focus on spending a couple of hours together, it was a perfect spot. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. After being caught by surprise by the unexpected menu (no, no pasta dishes here), we were more than satisfied. The salumi, cheese, and vegetable platters were a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The manzo battuta portion was equally generous. We shared a delicious bottle of wine, then enjoyed the tarte tatin and coffee. Vespolina is just a short walk from the Piazza Ducale. If you are looking for a nontraditional menu, it is a great option.
