Lunch with friends, top marks for the appetizer of traditional cured meats, good wine recommendations, and very friendly service.

Nothing special, some dishes very good, others average, very expensive and above all very annoying the host who says that what you ordered will take at least 30 minutes, effectively forcing you to also order the appetizers.

We thoroughly enjoyed sampling the traditional local dishes. First, a plate of homemade goose cured meats, accompanied by small warm loaves of bread. Then a slow-cooked goose leg, tender and flavorful on the inside and crispy on the outside, accompanied by potatoes cooked in goose fat. To drink, a classic Oltrepo Pavese method, made from Scorzoletta di Pietra de' Giorgi. An immersion in the flavors of the area... and the problems associated with the deindustrialization of the footwear district. The premises are beautiful, just below the Sforza Castle, near the old gate where the Zanoletti antiques dealer once stood.

Personally, I found the welcome and service to be subpar; the atmosphere didn't convey any warmth. The ravioli filled with braised goose were nothing extraordinary, but the butter and hazelnut sauce certainly didn't enhance them. The veal with tuna sauce, fried chicken, and hazelnut cake with zabaglione were all delicious; the zabaglione dollops were really small.
