Feedback
In the street leading to one of the most beautiful squares in Italy, in the medieval town of Vigevano near Milan, L'Oca Ciuca (local dialect for The Drunken Goose) offers you local specialties and local wines of the highest quality. We had chestnut cream cotechino, leek risotto, pumpkin flan, and, of course, goose leg: delicious. The wine was great, perfect for the food we had, and the advice we had on that matching was spot-on. Kind, warm and informal service, adequate bill (meaning: it was not cheap but also I felt it totally justified).
We had a lunch here during our visit to Vigevano. The place is usually very crowded si we had to wait over 1/2 hour to be seated. Consider booking in advance. The place is nice, the staff is warm, the menu a bit short but typical. Local special is goose meat in many ways: fois gras, pasta sauce or roasted. We had 2 starters: castelmagno cheese flan with artichokes (very good) and a mixed plate of fois gras (could have been better). Then risotto with beans, red wine and salami for 2: that was very good!!! 2 desserts: cafè gourmand and creme caramel, nothing to be amazed for. Add 2 glasses of good red wine for a reasonable total of 74 euros. I'd come back again, would give 3.5 so I opted for a 3 and not a 4
