Came across this place late afternoon and it blew my tastebuds away! Trying to get healthy and was on my way to buy some fresh fruit at the nearby supermarket , Billa the Franz Josef train station. Never made it there because this restaurant caught...my eye. It's a minute walk away from the Friedensbruecke subway station, exit Friedensbruecke. My takeaway order was sweet potato fries with sweet chili sauce dip, mint chammomile iced tea and an amazing spinach salad with red beets, sweet potatoes, shredded carrots, shredded red cabbage and something I have never tried before lupine gyro which I believe are lupine means mashed up and fried up all tossed in a light balsamic vinaigrette. Incredible and fresh! I have not tasted such a delicious salad in a long time! They did charge 30 cents for takeaway which I think is due to the fact they have high quality takeaway boxes so I didn't mind the sweet potato fries were so delicious and crispy! Together with the sweet chili dip, although an extra 1.10 euros was the perfect accompaniment. Will definitely go back and try their quinoa bowls and maybe the soup. The takeaway homemade iced tea was served in a high quality plastic bottle with a huge sprig of fresh mint leaves inside. Perfect! Great friendly service too!
As a family of veggies tours europe, its mess to say that culinary delicacies not high, we eat much too much brot, cheese and pizza. so veggiezz was a real pleasure on the first day in wien. as completely vegetarian meant that it. no need to worry about menu fishing haps (as happened in berlin. or choose from a selection of one or two. the veggie burgers were beautiful with several selection of filling and regular or sweet potato friries. there were also some really interesting bowls like steak and quinoa, which was something different and really delicious. all in the family have their plate (i.e. no room to dessert! the drink selection was also interesting, served from organic beers to rose limonade in a flask. our waitress was very friendly and very pleased when my daughter announced that it was her favorite restaurant. we enjoyed sitting on the street on a warm evening, in which did within the restaurant possibly have been unhappy hot. veggiezz, feel free to expand over the continental!
This is a chain of small and extremely casual, reasonably priced vegetarian restaurants. As visitors to a country with a meat based national cuisine, our dinner searches weren't focused on decor or gracious service although we thought Veggiezz was fine on both fronts but...on finding a tasty, relaxing, and filling meal from a menu we wouldn't have to worry about. We happened to order the veggieburgers and were blown away by how hearty, flavorful and huge they were. I admittedly can't remember much of the rest of the meal because we were so smitten with the burgers. We returned the very next night just to order the same. Sounds silly, but a perfect veggie burger is a thing of beauty.
