We gently tried to explain that we didn’t have enough cash, but only credit card and he started yelling at us. We apologized and one of us ran to the hotel to take the cash while the other stayed as “hostage”. It was really humiliating. Thought we explained ourselfs he kept coming to me yelling that it was late and I that I was a fool cause I didn’t have cash with me. Other waiters started moking at me. It has been a terrible half hour. I was really mortified.

The restaurant itself is massive, with a huge beer garden that’s lively and great for groups. They serve tap beer, which is quite good, though the selection isn’t huge. My favorite is the “gemischtes,” a mix of the lager and the porter. The porter on its own is a bit too sweet, and the lager is a bit bland, but the mix strikes a nice balance. Service is fast and efficient, though the whole setup feels a bit like a large-scale tavern—more focused on volume than personal touch. Still, it gets the job done. Definitely worth a stop if you’re already in the Prater or nearby. It’s fun to combine with a walk through the amusement park afterward. Good for a casual, classic Viennese beer hall experience. We walked around looking for a table for a whole hour, the only thing the waiters told us was “move over”, they were extremely rude, the whole place was full of people walking around looking for empty tables but they kept letting more people in the restaurant. We left hungry and already very upset. Will never go back again!
