What Anonym dislikes about Hakka Cun:
The reviews for this place were very good so perhaps we just had a more average night. Was surprised that on a Saturday night at there was only us and one other table so not much of an atmosphere, however the waitress owner...was friendly and had English menu. The food came pretty quickly but was pretty bland unfortunately but it was very reasonable priced. for starter, main course and a beer for So overall pretty av... View all feedback.

One of the very best Chinese food I've ever had (in many different parts of the world), very authentic and made both with a skill and love. Chicken noodles made to perfection, my husband ordered pork and that was also delicious Lovely atmosphere and very nice lady running the place, I loved it there Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I rather, generally, essentially, like this place. It’s tucked away in a rather odd corner, carrying the vibe of an old Macau movie. It's Hokkien, but it's also Chinese Indonesian. You can tell just by glancing at the menu or the photos. You get the quintessential small Asian restaurant dynamic: a burned-out old Asian woman (aka old Asian woman) single-handedly managing every table. She didn’t smile, which is fine, but what wasn’t fine was her decision to acknowledge other customers before me. It made me feel slightly too invisible. But the food is where it gets a bit confusing. Every time I eat at an Asian restaurant in Vienna, I start questioning how much of what I know is cultural memory and how much is just nostalgia. Their beef rendang, for instance, is made with beef strips and plain rice. But traditionally, rendang involves large chunks of beef, a thick, spiced sauce, and fragrant blue rice. Their portion of rice was so puzzlingly small that it was almost metaphorical. In most of Asia, rice isn’t metaphorical—it’s essential. Their nasi goreng, while enjoyable, seemed also a bit simplified with curry powder. That said, the overall flavor does come close to what you might expect from a sincere home-cooked Indonesian Chinese meal (I'd say 7/8 out of 10). If you go, I’d recommend asking specifically for those dishes—or more reliably, ordering the curry or twice-cooked pork belly. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
