An ample menu, for very reasonable prices, of Austrian small plates and meals is a great budget stop for any tourist. Fresh prepared, and a great beer selection with a vibrant atmosphere make this place a great late night haunt.

Wir entdeckten das Lokal vor ca. 20 Jahren als Pausenlokal während der Volksoperaufführungen und wir lernten es lieben.Der alte Chef wurde begleitet von einem a... read more Wir entdeckten das Lokal vor ca. 20 Jahren als Pausenlokal während der Volksoperaufführungen und wir lernten es lieben.Der alte Chef wurde begleitet von einem alten Hund und beide verkörperten Vergänglichkeit und Lebensmut zugleich.Der Wein wurde schnell serviert und am Tresen drängelten die Volksopergäste in der Pause. Das Lokal altmodisch gemütlich und nun modern gemütlich mit durchaus gutem Speisenangebot und Getränken. Schön, dass es soetwas in Wien gibt.

Gut zum Lernen, Fische im Aquarium beobachten oder einfach zum Abschalten. Sehr empfehlenswert. Very polite employees, incredibly high quality food for a very fair price (Fair Lunch Daily menu, where you decide how much you want to pay) and just a very nice assemble. Great if you want to study, look at the fishes in the fish tank or just need a place to relax. Highly recommended.

We went twice, after the Volksoper; both times the welcome was warm and friendly, with excellent white wine immediately in front of us; curiously, the café does... read more We went twice, after the Volksoper; both times the welcome was warm and friendly, with excellent white wine immediately in front of us; curiously, the café does not sell bottles, all wine is by the glass; we ate the same both times - the café is particularly known for its magnificent Wiener Schnitzel, deservedly so; always made fresh, on a plate with a piece of lemon, nothing else; side salad has stewed apple and potato underneath; it fills up quickly after a show ends, so be quick; the whole place is spotless, very plainly furnished, no pretensions; we loved it
