In the midst of this garden, you can find the Palais Augarten (now occupied by the famous Viennese Boy's Choir) and next...to it the residence of the Augarten Porcelain Manufactory. In the same building the Cafe Restaurant is located. Enjoy sunny days on the two terraces and the historic scene. And if you are more interested in contemporary history: the 2 towers with antiaircraft artillery from world war 2nd are still visible. So, if you have any choice: take a table in the garden and simply enjoy.

After the tour we decided to have a bite to eat and a coffee. my wife ordered a coffee and I ordered a salad. the salad arrived about 2 minutes later; the coffe... read more After the tour we decided to have a bite to eat and a coffee. my wife ordered a coffee and I ordered a salad. the salad arrived about 2 minutes later; the coffee not so much. After about 10 minutes I told my wife to forget it, we'll get a coffee on the way back to the apt. then the waiter appeared and we mentioned the fact that we did not want the coffee anymore as it was too late. 2 minutes later he appeared with the coffee, gratis. that was appreciated, but what bothered us was when we mentioned the coffee, he didn't even bat an eye, like he didn't take ownership for the lapse in service. we've been indoctrinated in bad/rude behavior of restaurant service while on this European journey, but that still doesn't make it any easier when it occurs. sure makes it easy for tipping though!! note: the salad and coffee were fine, but nothing special. I'd pass and head back to the Old Town area where there are plenty of places to choose from.
