Contribute FeedbackIndulging in high tea at The Empress in Victoria is a memorable experience, renowned for its elegance and attentive service. Guests rave about the delightful selection of teas, exquisite finger sandwiches, and to-die-for scones served with Devon cream and jam. While the dessert selection is a mixed bag, with some treats proving overly sweet or lacking flavor, the overall ambiance, beautifully presented food, and friendly staff make for an enchanting occasion. Despite minor issues—such as noise levels and some disappointing vegan options—the consensus is clear: a visit to The Empress for tea is an unmissable highlight of any trip to Victoria.
We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant with our children, and our server provided excellent service and engaging conversation.
The food at this restaurant was fantastic and the service was top-notch. We were seated near the piano so we could enjoy the great music, although it was a bit too loud at our table. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience!
We were early and they still sat us at a wonderful table. Service and food was excellent!
We had a wonderful experience at high tea. The ambiance was elegant and our server, Manon, was delightful and attentive. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in Victoria.
Tea at the Empress was a lot of fun! You are able to pick which tea you want served. There were 3 of us so we were able to try different ones which was nice. They then served us a tiered plate which had desserts on the top one of each kind to everyone, sandwiches in the middle and scones on the bottom. There was a nice variety of sandwich fingers. The scones were to die for!!!! The desserts were ok not a huge fan. But overall experience was fantastic!!!
