This place offers the best lobster roll I have ever eaten, and I have eaten them countless times from Canada to Dunedin, Florida. There is more really fresh, large chunks of lobster packed into a nicely toasted bun than any other place I have ever been. The fries are also great, crispy, yummy. They have a good selection of beer and I recommend the 1776. Add to this the utterly charming, beautiful scenery around Victo... View all feedback.
What Alistair S doesn't like about Richard's Victoria:
I often wonder if I share the same planet with the rest of the human race. I also wonder what sort of life had been led by reviewers who always assign high praise to mediocre businesses. In my estimation, this business would fall into the mediocre category. My lobster burger consisted of unseasoned lobster meat stuffed into a bun. That's all it was. The lobster roll was overflowing, I don't remember ever having 6 claws plus more meat in a roll. I ordered the classic, it was awesome, yet I realize I like the sweetness of butter poured on mine (next time, I will order the buttered lobster roll). I like my fries on the crispy side well done, they were cooked to my perfection. Can't beat the beautiful ocean view and such a quaint destination.

In my estimation, this business would fall into the mediocre category. My lobster burger consisted of unseasoned lobster meat stuffed into a bun. That's all it was. The fries were mostly scrag ends, with some being burnt into blackened husks. For this privilege, I paid just under $30. Victoria by the Sea would have been passably nice, but most of it was hidden behind massive roving bands of tourists, most of whom eventually queued to dine at Richard's. From my perspective, Victoria is an exclusively tourist destination with no redeeming features, and I would categorize Richard's identically.
Outdoor seating in the beautiful Victoria by the Sea. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Erin! Highly recommend their lobster roll and Oysters! We visited on a rainy but it was still an amazing experience! Thanks!

Went to Richards in Victoria a few days ago with my daughter and WOW!!!We ordered the 1 piece fish and chips, a lobster roll and the fried scallop taco. The fried scallop taco was AMAZING!It does have a spicy mayo on it, which the cashier made sure to mention before putting the order through, in case we didn't want the spicy mayo on it.The lobster roll had huge chuncks of fresh lobster in it and so much flavour, it was definitely the best lobster roll I had while in the Maritimes. The fish, in the fish and chips, was perfectly battered and came apart so easily. No knife needed! Even if you don't like seafood I would suggest stopping by for some of their French fries.Their terrace is dog friendly and the people that work there are super friendly and helpful, one of the owners went above and beyond to help us out. Thanks again Richards is going to be a permanent stop for us whenever we go back to PEI!!!
