Was User at Persimmon Tree Modern Korean Cuisine a mag?
While exploring the city, we stopped for lunch and were happily surprised by the vegan options at Persimmon Tree Modern Korean Cuisine, despite the menu being limited. The staff were very friendly, and the menu clearly marked which dishes were vegan or could be adapted by swapping or removing ingredients. Although the restaurant wasn’t busy, our food took a little longer to arrive due to staffing shortages from COVID... View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Persimmon Tree Modern Korean Cuisine:
To make matters worse, the manager came out and yelled at us, which was quite alarming. The cook then approached us, visibly upset, and continued to plead with us until we decided to leave them alone since we didn't want to spoil our trip. As tourists, we won't be returning to this restaurant, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends. View all feedback.

Beef bulgogi bibim bap was good. The bulgogi hotpot was not something I was familiar with (I had never seen this dish when I was living in Korea. The most similar dish would be Dduk bul), but it was great! Lots of veggies with warm sweet soup. Some parts of beef were a bit stringy- but was not a big deal for me. I will try again for sure when I am near.

This is the best Korean food I've experienced in the Victoria area. The service was outstanding, and my meal was served quickly. I particularly enjoyed that my rice dish came in a traditional cast iron bowl, which kept the rice piping hot and gave it a delightful crunch on the outside of each grain. I just wish it were a bit closer to downtown, but it's definitely worth the trip to Millstream.

The food was fantastic, featuring delicious Korean dishes, some of which were served in cast iron cookware on wooden blocks. The waitstaff were incredibly friendly, and our server was particularly sweet. Although English isn't their first language, it didn't matter at all. They seemed to enjoy chatting with their coworkers behind the counter. The atmosphere is straightforward and somewhat minimalistic, but it's clean and offers plenty of space for groups of 4 to 6. I definitely plan to return!

I’ve become somewhat addicted to their pork soft tofu soup, which is perfectly salty and spicy with a hint of sweetness—my favorite dish by far. However, it seems that since the pandemic, the portion size might have been reduced. The savory seafood pancake is tasty as well, and the waiter was very attentive, making sure to provide the dipping sauce. That said, there wasn’t much seafood in it; it was mostly filled with chives. I also ordered the bibimbap, which was amazing, and I look forward to trying it again the next time I can catch them open on Skip.

The waitress is the best!!! A good recommendation, a great chefs cuisine and a lot of love on the recipes. I love it. Thank you so much. Spicy and good.

**A Culinary Journey at a Local Korean Gem** This Korean restaurant captivates with its delightful dishes and warm ambiance. Despite a limited vegan selection, the friendly staff adeptly adjust meals to accommodate diverse diets. Esteemed menu items include flavorful bulgogi and veggie bibimbap, served in a casual, welcoming space ideal for groups or families. Diners rave about the attentive service, with a special nod to a charming and kind owner. While the atmosphere could benefit from a touch of warmth, the overall experience is bolstered by generous portions and reasonable prices. For those craving authentic Korean cuisine, this spot is truly worth revisiting.

Update on 8. June: Eventually got a chance to dive. The service was amazingly friendly, and had more option than online menu or delivery app. Also the store inside was beautiful and bright, had a large table in the middle, which can accommodate more than 6 people. I tried to order her food on the leap, but her operating hours on the leap are very incompatible. I was addicted to order her pork soft tofu soup, salty and spicy with a hint of sweetness, the best dish in my opinion. But after the pandemic, I think they cut the part. The hearty seafood pancake also tastes good, and the waiter is very attentive to highlight the sauce. However, there are not much seafood in it, and most of the pancakes are chives. Have also ordered Bibimbap, amazing taste, hope to try it again, next time I see them open on Skip.

I ordered the stir-fried yam noodles, which came in a generous portion. The dish was quite good, and the price was reasonable as well. The service was fantastic; our waitress was cheerful and friendly, making our dining experience truly enjoyable.

Just eat here if you really want great servers to bring you amazing food. Portions were great. The service was wonderful. The flavors were authentic. And the flight of Korean drinks was delicious! We'll be back. You should try it!

The experience lived up to its great Google reviews. In addition to the delicious bibimbap and pancakes, which met my expectations, the crème brûlée was simply amazing! You can’t go wrong with any item on the menu, but definitely make sure to try their crème brûlée; it’s surprisingly delightful! I will definitely be returning!

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Service was quick and efficient. The interior decor was clean and minimalistic yet beautifully designed. The food was outstanding; I wouldn't change a thing. Prices were reasonable, and the portion sizes were generous! I will definitely be returning.

I gave this restaurant a rating of 3 because the portion sizes have shrunk. The bowl, which used to be filled to the brim, is now only about two-thirds full, and each bowl costs more than $18. I also ordered a $5 side of vegetables—mushrooms and zucchini—which came in a tiny 2-ounce ramekin that felt like a scam!

I was impressed by how accommodating the staff was regarding dietary restrictions. They are more than capable of catering to gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan diets.

Absolutely delicious! :D We placed our order over the phone on September 30, selecting C1 (like "cat") and B5 (like "Bob"). Both dishes were beautifully presented and had generous portion sizes. The highlight of our experience was the kind and patient woman who assisted us in navigating the menu to help us find something we would enjoy. Everything was meticulously packed in the bag, labeled with adorable little smiley faces, and they even included extra sauce for a little added spice. Our stomachs are satisfied, and our cat is happy too, as they got a little taste!

I always make it a point to visit this place whenever I'm working in Langford. Their chicken ramen soup is amazing! (The photo shows the fried chicken special I had for lunch today.)

My experience was just as fantastic as the Google reviews suggested. The bibimbap and pancakes were delicious and lived up to my expectations, while the crème brûlée was absolutely incredible. You really can’t go wrong with any dish on the menu, but I highly recommend trying the crème brûlée—it's surprisingly delightful. I will definitely be back!

What an incredible restaurant for authentic Korean cuisine! The kimchi was absolutely fantastic and clearly homemade. I enjoyed the hot pot, which was delicious, while my friend had the yam noodle stir fry. The waitress was not only sweet but also very funny. I will definitely be coming back soon!

The chef came out and shouted at us, which was entirely uncalled for and only made things worse. We ended up asking him to leave us alone because we didn't want this incident to ruin our trip. Fortunately, we don’t live in the area, and I definitely won’t be coming back or recommending this restaurant to any of my friends.

We visited after reading that they offered a vegan menu, but unfortunately, they didn't have one. Some dishes can be adjusted to be vegan, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about vegan options. The food was good, but the selection for vegans is limited.

We decided to stop for lunch while exploring the city, and we were pleasantly surprised by the vegan options available, even though the menu was somewhat limited. The service was incredibly friendly, and the menu clearly labeled vegan dishes as well as those that could be modified by substituting or removing ingredients. While there weren't many customers, we did have to wait a bit for our meals due to staff shortages (a consequence of COVID-19), which was clearly communicated through signs at each station. We ordered the Veg/Tofu pancakes and the Bulgogi, both of which were delicious. The Bulgogi portion was just the right size for lunch.

Very courteous and friendly staff. Dog-friendly terrace and customizable menu (and children's menu). Hit the place for a delicious Asian food! Perfect amount of spicy and taste. Come back!

We visited Langford and weren't sure where to find vegan options, so we were delighted to discover this Korean restaurant that offers a separate menu for vegan dishes. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious. I just wish they had Kimbop and a wider variety of vegan kimchi.

Update on June 8th: Finally got a chance to dine in. The service was amazingly friendly, and had more option than online menu or delivery app. Also the store inside was nice and bright, had a large table in the middle that can accommodate more than 6people. Visited Victoria, visited this restaurant because of some good commands, friendly staffs. IF everything goes smooth. waitress are good and polite. The problems and their attitude change after something went wrong. Chef came out yelled at us, all thisbecause I ordered a seafood pot special requested mild spicy. Pot came out very spicy, I can't take spicy food, just askingadded some basic soup or water, in order to finish the pot, answer was NO.. the chef came out talked and yelled at us, until weasked the chef left us alone. Cause we didn't want to screw up our trip because of this. Good thing we don't live there, and forsure we won't go back or recommend to any of my friend.????????????

Such an amazing restaurant for authentic Korean. The kimchi was absolutely amazing and definitely homemade. I had the hot pot which was so delicious and my friend had the yam noodle stir fry. The waitress was so sweet and super funny. Definitely will bereturning soon !
