Really cool experience for a once and a while thing. Breakfast was okay. Standard menu. Comes quick and isn't over priced. Service was very pleasant. Security screen required to enter building so bring an ID with you. That shouldn't deter you though as it is not invasive. Better breakfast places in the area but nothing wrong with this place at all. View all feedback.

It's a government building, so that means a secure airport style entry with a scanner and metal detector. Once approved, you get a visitor's badge and directions down the halls under this impressive building, to walk into a dining room from the early 20th century. White linen nails the era and an efficient black-and-white clad server glides through the tables. OK, breakfast is breakfast... eggs, omelettes, toast, jui... View all feedback.

Not every day brings the opportunity to have a great meal in such a significant and historical place. The food and service were great. The ambiance was simply unique.
Great experience for the family, excellent food. Kids loved it. Great Customer Service. Food was excellent. No reservations were required.
I am so glad that I found this place through TripAdvisor. My family and I ate breakfast twice here. The building was virtually next door to our hotel, making the trip very convenient. If you are facing the main building, there is a side door to the right where security will ring you in. The food was very good. We tried the Rattenbury (1 egg, choice of breakfast meat, hash browns, fruit, toast) and the Skillet (hash browns. ham, bacon, mushrooms, peppers, cheese, eggs). The food was fresh, hot, hearty, and well-prepared. Nothing fancy or pretentious. We splurged and also tried the cheese biscuit and the cinnamon bun. The biscuit was tasty but the cinnamon bun was the showstopper. It was split cross-wise and grilled with a nice slather of butter. The staff was friendly and efficient. The decor in the dining room made you feel like you were taking a step back in time and was lovely. The walls were lined with historical photos of Victoria and Parliament. There were high windows that offered natural light in this partially subterranean room. Prices were very reasonable.
We chose this for breakfast for the experience and were glad we did. You have go through security to get to the dining room. The food was good and excellent value. The restaurant is on one of the lower floors so there is no view. Take photo ID. Could have done a tour of the building afterwards but we did not have time.
