Bottomless soup is in a definite ascendency this summer. Excellent braised beef onion soup is served with a DELICIOUS LARGE CROISSANT and BUTTER. You read it correctly and bottomless it can be if that is where you want to go! Lively venue has been massaging its target market for years and they know exactly how please as you step through the front door. A cacophony of conversation does not interfere with the enjoyment... What Savannah Lakin doesn't like about Floyd's Diner:
The first time at Floyd's Diner. At 8:30. Place was very busy. Coffee and tea came fast. Waited 20 minutes until our order is taken. Then we waited 25 minutes for our breakfast. When we waited, we realized that no meals were only delivered... different dishes were taken away. My husband's breakfast was okay, but mine was barely warm for basically cold. The server came back about 10 minutes later and asked how our bre... View all feedback.
The selections for breakfast are many and the only thing larger than the portions is the dinning room. You cannot possibly leave Floyd's Diner and be hungry. My wife had pancakes and I had a omelette and neither of us came close to cleaning our plates. I considered the cost for breakfast to be cheap when compared to the quality and portions of the food provided. This is a favorite local establishment and it's easy to see why. If we visit Victory BC again Floyd's will be a definite do-over.
Floyds was recommended by our hotel as the best place for breakfast in Victoria. On Canada Day it was really busy but so friendly to a group of Brits. Outstanding breakfast menu, we all chose the "Lumberjack". Double eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns topped off with two fluffy pancakes. No need for another meal until early evening!
I like the no fuss Canadian American style menu. The place is very busy. You will wait to get seated for sunday morning breakfast. Plan ahead it's worth it. Meals are a good portion. Family oriented as well.
I used to love Floyd's because I could take my dog and have lunch outside. I found out they have streamlined their menu and some of the things I loved are gone like the chicken chimichanga and the breakfast scramble. I had a beef sandwich, it was good but my spouse was not wowed by his breakfast because he hates that nobody actually pan fries potatoes any more, they are all deep fried. Service was good; we were seated and served quick but I don't know if I'll be back.
Fun & friendly staff. Free coffee as you wait for your table. We had breakfast food and it was amazing! Definitely recommend anytime of day!
