Found this place by accident in the market and so glad we did. Had ling cod and chips and a beer. Good value, didn't feel like a tourist trap. Fish was superb, light crispy battery and a good thick portion. Choose were delish and served with all of the trimmings you would expect. No frills, casual lunch would definitely recommend View all feedback.

We came here just this past weekend and sadly enough we noticed that it was closed. Unsure why, however this shopping location seems to have a reasonably high turnover! View all feedback.

We stopped in here at the market after wanting to get to this place for months.I was hungry and we only had heard that this eatery was in here. Once I spotted it and realized that it was 'taco Tuesday', I was sold - options were salmon or halibut - both are favorites, but went with halibut. To say that I seek out all fish tacos anywhere I go is a pretty good way to put it.These fish tacos were generous in both size and amount of halibut in them - just the perfect combination of flavors - to me perfect! They were very busy, yet the wait was not long at all - everything is made from scratch and the fish is pan fried lightly with amazing flavor.Would I go here again - most definitely - the rest of their menu looks amazing. It does appear that they are moving this fall, will have to watch out for their next location and follow them. They also sell fresh fish of varying types depending on the season - all looked very fresh.

We were told about this location, but had to look for it. Find the Hudson Bay "Market Place". It is an old building on the corner of Douglas and Fisgard. Inside are small shops with several places to eat. The Cowichan Bay is inside, with air conditioning, tables to sit at and the fish is as good and the price similar to Red Fish Blue Fish, without the wait and without the full sun! Well worth finding if you are looking for good halibut fish and chips. The building is only open until 18:00, so plan on lunch or an early dinner.
Popcorn shrimp are offered with gluten free option and are delicious .this is a fish market. As such don't come here to find burgers. They also sell raw many types of raw fish for you to prepare at home.
