Barb’s fish and chips definitely lived up to its reputation and was a delicious lunch for the whole family. The fish was tender, battered to perfection, the fries toast were superb. We tried the seafood chowder and that was very good too. Strolled around Fisherman’s wharf after we had lunch. Totally recommend Barb’s if you’re in Victoria! View all feedback.
What Moksh K doesn't like about Barb's Fish Chips:
Got the 2 piece halibut and found the breading too much. The fish was fresh and the fries were amazing. Coleslaw was alright. It's a personal opinion and taste to have the fish breading layer not thick. A little pricey from normal places but it is expected due to its prime location. View all feedback.
Located on Fisherman's Wharf, this restaurant is a lot of fun. Customers order at the counter, receive a number, and then pick up their food at a window. The seating consists of picnic tables with plastic utensils. They only offer soft drinks, but the fish and chips are delicious!
We ordered a large portion of cod and chips, as well as the famous Barb burger, both of which were delicious. The batter on the fish was super crispy, the fish itself was a good size, and the chips were great. Although the queue was a bit long, it's no surprise as the restaurant is popular during peak times. Overall, it was the perfect meal to enjoy after our whale watching tour.
We were pleasantly surprised by this decent fish and chip place. I had the haddock and my partner had the cod; both were good, with a light batter, similar to a tempura. The restaurant has a well-organized system with buzzers to notify customers when their order is ready, even when it is busy. Finding a seat was not difficult either.
I'm from england, so I had my fair share of fishing and chips and barbs fish is the best fish I've ever eaten as well as I went back the next day to have lunch. the teig is light and crispy and oh so delicious and they can pick up the fish and hold it with the fingers as its big and cloby. I usually find fish quite faty deep fried, but not the fish of barb. absolutely tasty and I feel that no fish I ever fit on the fish I had in barb.
Had the fried clams $13.99 and bowl of seafood chowder for $10. Was nice atmosphere at Wharf. The other fish& chips places near by did not have fried clams so we ate here instead. The fish looked good but fries looked like the frozen variety and not appealing
