This restaurant is located in a basement in downtown which is a cozy and comfortable space. It is a bit hard to find because it is in a half basement. I I went there twice. But I do highly recommend to order the grill as the complete dinner. Chef was full of humour, he would chat with the costumers during his cook. View all feedback.
What Simi Moise doesn't like about Japanese Village Restaurant:
Oh my goodness...Japanese Village! So disappointed....we usually love the Japanese Village, but this night was not so good?!?! After spending a lot of time talking about all the good food, how funny and entertaining the chefs, were to someone who has never been before, what a total disappointment! Started off with a nice soup, then a tasty small salad with a vinaigrette, then the chef came in. He was VERY funny and was entertaining :) even let me cut

This is a great experience. A bit pricey for a family but well worth the visit. We will be back for the steak sauce!!!
Bring an appetite, you will not leave hungry. This is one of the better places we have gone to eat in Victoria. The staff is helpful, friendly and efficient. The chefs are personable, funny and they cook a mean surf and turf. The food is...More
Oh my goodness...Japanese Village! So disappointed....we usually love the Japanese Village, but this night was not so good?!?! After spending a lot of time talking about all the good food, how funny and entertaining the chefs, were to someone who has never been before, what a total disappointment! Our food was way over cooked, to the point of being burnt, couldn't even taste the mushrooms or the shrimp, the cook was obviously not happy working there, he kept telling us he was from Texas, he was rude to our two small grandchildren who were behaving extremely well, so much that strangers at our table and other tables commented on how well behaved they were....this was not a good visit! Use to be our favourite restaurant, we may have to start looking for somewhere else.
