My friend booked this restaurant in August and discovered it had become a lower level pizzeria! And they failed to tell her so on the phone not good policy.
We had actually hoped to get a table at Le Sept but as we hadn't made a reservation they couldn't accommodate. The owner was however very helpful and recommended Plum. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was relaxed and the restaurant filled with locals which is always a good sign. Our waiter was polite and the menu exciting. I'd highly recommend a visit.
A chance return to Versailles gave us the opportunity to eat at Plum again. Just to make sure ... you know was it that good. Yep it is ! Booked on line through here and despite the showery rain there were a number of people already dining, we had a nice table for 2 next to the wines and with a view of the kitchen. We had a mixed starter of fish rillette and terrine, mains were great no chips which are an added bonus, then we had cheese and cafe gourmand. The cheese was fantastic and I'm sure the French family next to us must have thought we were nuts ooohing and ahing about the cheese. Off the beaten track but worth a visit.
I booked on line for 7:30 but arrived early, the waitress was a little flustered but we order some Rose and nibbles arrived as we sat outside end enjoyed the sunshine. Inside is an eclectic mix of furniture and tables the usual mis match. Pride of place was an old butchers scale on a block in the middle of the room. we were first in but were soon joined by others mainly couples. The food was fantastic packed with flavour and delicious. We has a veggie friend and a fussy child both were very well catered for and me and Mrs Y tasted each others dinner hmmm yummy all round. I'm glad we had a walk back to the hotel to walk off some of those calories !
I had a nice experience coming to this restaurant. The choices on the menu are refined and the service is gentle and nice (the lovely waitress is cheerful and serve you with a warm, sincere smile). Price is a bit over the average but not too much, it's totally worth coming here. Their dishes are very well prepared and presented and taste delicious. The only letdown was the risotto, that was very heavy and pasty. Other than that, excellent!
