A very welcoming 'traditional ' French setting. Meals were excellent, knocked off a star as the palates for the main course were cold. The waiter, Nolan, was great, even brought us pre and after dinner drinks for free! With a Versailles brochure we also had a 15% reduction in price. View all feedback.
What Bo Kassulke doesn't like about Le Bistrot du boucher:
Visited this restaurant after hearing great reviews from Colleagues but I was disappointed with the main course , which was overcooked Duck with a salad.Starter was ok , The service was good and it has good atmosphere , but overall about average.I would probably try a different restaurant next time I travel here. We had dinner here. Although I am not a fluent french speaker, I can stumble through but the waiter didn't seem to want to work with me. We ordered our dinner which was very old school bistro french and watched as the other diners received much better service.
There are plenty of places to eat around the market in Versailles but we’re glad we chose this for lunch. They are very welcoming and that starts with a glass of sparkling wine on the house when you sit down. They serve very traditional French food which we like and they also have a fixed price lunch too. We had roasted pigs feet and bone marrow. Both wonderful. Thinking of going again because it’s only a 30 minute ride from Paris where we are. It was that good!
Had dinner nice touch with complimentary glass of pink fizz we eat of the set menu Plenty of Choice we had bone marrow which was interesting and a mixture of cold meats and pata then we both had streak finished of with rum baba and chocolate mouse all was well cooked and. reasonably priced very pleasant staff and surroundings
While staying in Paris, my wife and I took a day trip by rail to Versailles. After a wonderful visit, we decided to find a sidewalk cafe, have lunch and people watch. We chose Le Bistrot du boucher. It's located on the main street leading to the Palace of Versailles and across from the train station. We sat outside and enjoyed some wine and cocktails. Waitstaff was friendly, bringing us a complementary bowl of mixed nuts/bar snacks with our drinks before ordering lunch. We shared a very good thin crust pizza. The pizza was done perfectly, just as good as we had in Rome. They have many other selections on the menu to choose from. For a good lunch and people watching in Versailles, I recommend Le Bistrot du boucher.
If you want a great cut of meat - here is the place! Had a great meal - brilliant taste and my steak cut like butter! Apple pie was equally delicious! Great find- enjoy!
