Vernon Diner - Vernon Rockville

Found this jewel during work with a friend. I enjoy diner food, so we stopped to see what it is about. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly! I'm glad we stopped. I took a fruit salad and it was delicious. I'd definitely go back.

We drove past this diner and stopped because the parking lot was packed! We knew it had to be good! It has an in-house bakery and any kind of food you can imagine. We have an appetizer board that could have been a meal! The corn cutter was delicious, like my chicken crouquets and my husband had a delicious salad with open face pot dinner. Linda was our server and we will always ask to sit in her area, she does a good job. Can wait?t wait to go back to try their French toast!

Good food and even better deserts.. I will definitely go again, this will be a regular stop for us now when we are in the area. We went there on a Sunday got this off google maps and I was glad we did go here. The food was excellent. Reason for 3 ??. The waitress was extremely busy even though there are 4 5 other wait staff standing by the computer. Not sure if she didn?t want them to help her or it was a policy thing? Waited 10 mins before she came over and took our order then it took her another 10 mins to get salad and soup our main course was sitting under the hot plate for a good 20 mins. I know because the food was warm but the plates was extremely hot how?s that possible? I needed a refill on my water and asked the busboy to get it. She checked on us once and only because someone came in and sat behind our booth. We had to track her down for the bill. I believe they need to change how they handle their wait staff, there are plenty of them standing watching no need for someone to come in and wait 10 mins or more to take your order.

Everything we ordered was tasty, and the service was excellent. The portion sizes were quite decent as well. My only minor complaint was with the Teriyaki Trio; it was advertised to include shrimp, but there were only two small shrimp in total. If shrimp is being promoted as part of a dish, there should definitely be more than just two.

I always have a fantastic and filling meal at the Vernon Diner with family or friends. The prices are reasonable for the generous portions, and the milkshakes are fantastic! The meatloaf, steak ends, and parmigiana (both veal and chicken) are all excellent. It's a place we happily return to again and again. Plus, it's conveniently located near the Dzen tree farm, making it the perfect spot for a lunch or dinner after picking out a Christmas tree!
