Chez Francois is by far the best fine dining restaurant in the greater Cleveland area, if not FAR beyond that. Seriously, as a guy who's dined at nice French restaurants in NYC and beyond, this establishment has the finest cuisine, atmosphere, and hospitality of any restaurant by hundreds if not thousands of miles. The food is exquisite, especially the lobster bisque which is unbelievable; and the manager, Matt, is c... View all feedback.
What Alex doesn't like about Chez Francois Touche Bistro:
After hearing about this place for years we finally made the hour drive out from cleveland and it was a huge disappointment. The service and atmosphere outside was great, however the food was well below average for fine dining. Lobster ravioli app had the toughest lobster I've ever had and only two ravioli. Halibut was void of any flavor whatsoever. Literally tasted like a pile of nothing. Awful dish. Seafood pasta w... View all feedback.
Went to Chez Francois on Friday, the food was great, however, we had the worst waiter ever, slow inattentive, you name it, he was bad at it. I have been telling everyone and anyone for the last 20 years that it is the best restaurant in northern Ohio. I can no longer do so. Something going on? Don't know and don't care. Not for the price they charge.
Chez Francois was our favorite special occasion restaurant for over 20 years. I think the ambience, service, French cuisine, and location on the water make it one of the best restaurants in Ohio. However, our last two out of three experiences were disappointments so we are done. Last night we had a reservation for 6:45 to meet a business associate and her husband to celebrate a special occasion. We made the reservation six weeks earlier. Around 4:00 Rory called from the restaurant to say they had to cancel our reservation (he mentioned something about the Kentucky Derby...what does that have to do with anything? . He offered a later seating, but we live over an hour away and the couple already had their babysitter set up. We didn 't want to be getting our entrees at 9:30. He said they had no tables at 6:45, but that basically means they gave all their tables to customers who were more important (and probably didn 't have their reservation six weeks earlier like we did . He was condescending and rude on the phone and we both hung up angry. If they had told me there was an issue six weeks earlier I could have come up with a Plan B like Marble Room or Pier W. I 'm not saying don 't go to Chez Francois...it 's a wonderful restaurant. Just think twice if you are meeting other people for a special occasion. If you 're planning to spend $800 on dinner for four, the last thing you want to be doing is scrambling to find another fine dining restaurant with a few hours notice (which is what I ended up doing .
We had a fantastic meal. Good and Service met expectations, which were lofty based on all we had heard.
Absolutely the best restaurant in Notheast Ohio Service is first class and the food is always outstanding FANTASTIQUE!
Spectacular bar with the most delicious food. Wonderful staff. Such a charming place with perfect music playing softly that added to the impeccable ambiance.
