You should book, and if you do, make sure you're not "parked" somewhere there are definitely good and bad spots! Fab terrace if the weather is right. It's a lovely atmosphere, cosy and Swiss and traditional the meat gallows (can't think what its...called is excellent and to be honest it's the only thing I've had there because it is YUMMY! Quite expensive as well but isn't everything around here. Great location next t... View all feedback.
What Sebastian Grob doesn't like about Vieux Verbier:
Limited menu: sheer breadth of starters not matched by limited range of mains. We felt extremely hurried by the staff, as if turnover was paramount. The food was fine but neither remarkable nor complex it was of a much higher standard in years gone...by, which is why we had returned. Overall: average View all feedback.
Very bad, impolite service. The food was good, but it completely ruined our experience. We complained with the owner, but he did not seem to care much. That says it all. We will NEVER return.
We went to Aux Vieux Verbier twice once for lunch and once for dinner. It was a very cosy and casual spot, with quick and friendly service. Traditional Swiss cuisine, including the “Chasse” menu that is popular during the fall season. Reservation recommended (as...usual).
This place is located on the walk from the gondel to our hotel. perfect for coming from pists and a sunny lunch sitting outside in the early evening. very happy. very practical. high-quality eating is not like a tourist trap that makes it easy. could have been. burger, steak, pasta; large staples that gave us energy to go back for a few hours. bit annoying that they stop to use their complete menu at around 1400.
A bad waiter never again. arrogant. unfriendly. mocking. I hope they can get rid of this guy soon. that was delicious.
Wonderful eating with an authentic atmosphere and personal that are very well informed about their menu. we were late and had not booked so they could only offer some options that were both delicious. the cheese foefondues (platinum and tomato) were beautiful, and the dividing bark for two was perfectly cooked with large aromes. they gave great weeping recommendations for the dishes and everything in all we had a wonderful meal and evening there. I would recommend a visit here if they went after verge. hopefully I will try again some other options on the menu.
