When we arrived for a short visit to Ventura, we had already booked a restaurant to celebrate my birthday in Santa Barbara. Then we saw a local Italian restaurant literally across the street. After looking at the menu, we canceled our Santa Barbara reservation and made the one for Spasso Cucina. We are so glad we did. The food was excellent. What User doesn't like about Spasso Cucina Italiana:
I made reservations for my anniversary and was disappointed to say the least. You?re seated a little too close to your neighbors, which is a little too intimate for my liking. The complimentary bread was cold, and was paired with balsamic vinaigrette mixed with olive oil. Which was heavy on the balsamic vinaigrette. The calamari was okay, but my entrée was disappointing. It was a Monday night and the dining room was full, the owner was the only waiter as someone called out. He was wonderful, handeled the room with ease and the food was delicious!
