La Spiaggetta Dei Balzi Rossi

Embarrassed to admit, but my husband is a local and I have been coming here since 2007. However, never been to this excellent restaurant, although the owners say they have been around for 40 years! Whatever they did recently certainly worked, since there is a buzz around this place and we finally made it. (Don’t confuse this place with the one star Michelin restaurant called Balzi Rossi, which is a whole different story). This is an excellent little beach spot down the road from Balzi Rossi, which I am sure is mobbed during the day. Gorgeous little beach with the cleanest water around. We went for dinner, which was truly amazing. Perfect local Italian food, with great crudo and pasta. Don’t miss the sea urchin bottarga pasta, which is to die for. The service is excellent, friendly and efficient. Note: ladies, there is a little bit of a walk, so make sure your shoes are up for it. Or the nice owners can give you a ride. Very reasonable, great wine list.

My family and I walked from Menton for a change of scenery and specifically a new beach and lounge chairs. (To be clear, we did not try the restaurant so my experience is limited to the beach and bar area. We were pleasantly surprised by this beach tucked away in the rocks and cliffs and the very nice staff that greeted us. There was a life guard on duty, just for this small area, which was nice. The lunch at the tables was wonderful and all of us were pleased. If you are in the Menton area and want something a level or two above the service, food and beach view and lounge chairs offered at the restaurants there, be sure to make the short journey to this gem of a spot. Be prepared to spend a bit more, but it is worth it!

We spent two days here- at the beach club and it 's the best beach club around. Pros: Absolutely amazing Italian food. Friendly and attentive staff/ service Crystal clear, swimmable waters in its own small 'bay '. Lovely beach. Very private and absolutely perfect. There were no 'cons ' to this place It 's perfection. Yes, it 's not cheap- except to pay 250-300 euros per day for two front row loungers plus a great lunch but this is going rate on all beach clubs on the Riviera (French or Italian) of this quality. Life is short and you 're on holiday! it 's money very well spent.

Beautiful restaurant and beach. Once you get here you’ll see why it’s all worth it and you’ll never want to leave. The chefs are amazing and prepare all delicious food and the service is top notch. The owners are really friendly and you can see they care about the quality of all their guest’s experiences. I had the cacio e pepe con gamberi and it was one of the best dishes I’ve had. Marco was my server and he was really attentive, nice and really knowledgeable about the food wine and gave a great recommendation some great wine to have with my dish. This place is the ultimate place to come to relax and enjoy una bella vacanza. Grazie mille.
