Contribute FeedbackBarlo, a unique hideaway restaurant inside Hotel Erwin, offers a mixed experience. The Chef's specialty tomato mozzarella salad disappoints with its high price and small portion. However, the restaurant's ambiance is charming, with excellent drinks and bar food. On top of that, happy hour prices and delicious dishes like salmon and crab toast are highlights. The service is friendly and attentive, making it a cozy spot for pre-theater dinners. While some menu items may miss the mark, overall, Barlo is worth a visit for a unique dining experience in a relaxed setting.
Small bar /restaurant with a great laid back environment. Food was very good especially liked their lobster roll on Hawaiian rolls.
It's a cool spot. The Alaskan halibut was really good.
Chefs specialty tomato mozzarella salad is a ripoff. Consist of two thin stalks of romaine lettuce two small tomates cut in 4 piece wedges and one slice of mozzarella sliced in thin slices strewn around the plate and topped with a tangy oil and vinegar dressing. For an outrageous $14. Good for breakfast or a burger, otherwise keep looking.
This is a Hotel Bar with food. It's odd they take reservations at all and I was bummed I didn't research better to know where we were going prior to arrival. Part of the Hotel Erwin this little spot plays host to those not able to get into the true'scene' that is the roof top bar upstairs. The service was great; helpful, answered questions, and very cordial. The drinks were well made and we enjoyed our fancy bar food. Not what we were going for, but we liked the experience and would go back for dinner before or after drinks at the roof top bar.
All four of us in our group really enjoyed the food, particularly the brussel sprouts, lamb sliders, and poutine (everything we ordered from the small plates section was fantastic). However, as noted by other reviewers, the service was terrible- very slow and we had to ask multiple times for our drinks and water before they were brought to us.
