What Ibosio doesn't like about Al Vecio Marangon:
It was my second time and will certainly be my last. I was invited, therefore, I could not refuse. First time I was not really impressed, second one totally reconfirmed my first feeling. I really struggle to understand all this excitement around this place. Absurd prices for mediocre dishes and menù. Great little spot in the heart of Dorsoduro. It is small and crowded. Didn't have a reservation but luckily they were so kind and got us in. Delicious pasta- with mushrooms. Fun waiter staff.

A small family owned place everything was excellently prepared. We started with shrimp and avocado, burrata and tomato. The produce shrimp and cheese were very fresh and tasty, I had lasagna in bolognese sauce, with a perfect blend of pasta, cheese and meat. My wife had cannelloni with ricotta and spinach. First time in ages she finished her meal before me. Highly recommend this place for really good food and an escape from the crowds of Venice

This is a proper Venetian restaurant with great food, great wine and lovely staff. We three had such a good evening there on the first night of our week, that we went back for our last night. I have been to Venice lots of times, and eaten my way round the city. Not sure how I managed to take 30 years to find Al Vecio Marangon, but now I have found it, I will be back.
Late after a concert at Chiesa Vidal, we veered off our gps path back to our hotel looking for a respite from the cold. Our hope was just to have a quick coffee warm up and be on our way. An order of bolognese lasagne my husband’s pasta with mushroom sauce and a carafe of wine later….we were all warmed up! We got there late and didn’t mean to be the last ones to leave, but our host was so gracious! We didn’t realize they were to close until I asked. Delicious food and great service!
