Petrou... read more We were told about this restaurant by a customer in Le Clin d'Oeuil Bar in Cherval after we were let down by Bistrot de L'Atelier (see my other reviews). Petrouchka (bar owner) phoned ahead and made a last minute booking for us. On arrival we were greeted by the French owner speaking perfect English. He explained the varied menu and the meals chosen were very tasty and in generous portions. After the meal he pulled up a chair and chatted for a while before leaving us with a decanter of Cognac on the table; not added to the bill. As I don't drink brandy and my wife was driving we did not take advantage. According to the guy who recommended the restaurant, the chat and cognac happen regularly. Apparently summer brings more open-air dining and BBQ's. We will definitely visit again.
