Das erste... read more Jedes Jahr verbringe ich vier bis sechs Wochen in Spanien - aber selbst da gibt es wenig Restaurants die mit Miguel und seinem Team mithalten können. Das erste Mal habe ich das Meson Alegria vor knapp 30 Jahren besucht, damals noch unter der Leitung von Miguel und seinem früheren Kompagnon Felix. Oh Mann, ich hätte jeden Abend hingehen können.... Und auch heute noch (obwohl nur noch seeeehr sporadisch da) ist es jedesmal wie "nach hause kommen". Wenn ich nun Wuppertal verlasse, werde ich dieses Restaurant wirklich vermissen!!

Ausgezeichnete Tapas, Raciones und größere Gerichte werden zu vernünftigen Preisen angeboten. Wir hatten Tapas und anschliessend jeder eine Racion, sehr lecker alles; flotte, freundliche Bedienung, obwohl das Lokal rappelvoll war. Nch dem positiven Erlebnis gestern abend werde ich sicherlich wieder dorthin essen gehen.

Excellent cuisine, good to excellent wines, not only from the Rioja area with the typical Tempranillo grapes. With a full restaurant it can become a bit narrow. Reservation strongly recommended. Unfortunately few parking spaces in the area, but good access via ÖPNV, Schwebebahn to Robert-Daum-Platz . Great tapas, excellent seafood, delicious meat dishes

Even with portions the eye eats... read more If you find it delicious in this Spanish, you really have no idea about Spanish food. I had ordered a salmon with lobster sauce. Even with portions the eye eats, there were pommes, these were dark brown and simply scattered on the plate. The salmon was fried in pure oil. The lobster sauce was then an oil sauce. I couldn't eat it. When Miguel was asked why the criticism was simply not accepted. Not even an apology was in there. After my plate was picked up, no one came to our table to neither end nor ask for dessert or how to ask a snapshot for other guests. Nothing, really nothing. Not ashamed. Not even a good evening from Miguel. We were 12 people so I can't lie to myself. Don't understand how the store can still exist. Of me, even zero stars would be possible. Don't make it better to the El Jamon restaurant, then you'll see the difference.
