I estimate that many of us visit Vourliotes during a stay on Samos. Vouliotes is located on top of a mountain and to get there you have to follow a winding road uphill. When we almost arrive in Vourliotes, there is a sign on the right along the road that points to Taverna Pnaka. If it hadn't been pointed out to me, I probably would have driven past it many times without paying attention to it. But we were pointed out and even invited to have lunch there. From the sign to the Taverna the road is a bit bumpy, but it is very doable by car and it is really worth it! Taverna Pnaka is a family tavern, idyllically situated among greenery, with a spring on the grounds of the Taverna from which abundant (drinking) water flows. The water from the source swells into a romantic babbling river that creates a wonderful atmosphere. From the terrace you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sea. But what you come to a Taverna for is of course the food. The menu at Taverna Pnaka consists of traditional Greek dishes that are clearly prepared with great passion from local products. One is even tastier than the other. The only disadvantage of the Taverna ....... there is a scale on the terrace. So it's better not to stand on it after lunch or dinner, because with all those goodies it can be a bit of a shock Which you have to take for granted, because you really have to eat here!!!! Enjoy your meal!
