Guinguette La Riviera

We went to the excellent L'Estaminet in Thoureil for a light lunch but it was closed and we remembered that we had passed Guinguetta on our bike tour. What a difference! At Guingetta the menu is more a full restaurant menu but the staff, both the proprietor and her assistant ( who was doing most of the work) looked bored and the service was not good. The food, my anguille and my wife's salmon, was mediocre and cost 43 euros for the 2 meals and one small bottle of water. We would not go there again.

Crossed the river and found this on the bank. Beautiful setting facing Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire and the bridge. Service was very good and food was well presented. Thoroughly pleasant, could have passed the whole afternoon here.

We spotted this restaurant on the way to our destination which was about 5km away in Coutures. Restaurants in this area were few and far between but this one opened in the evenings and the food was lovely. I had 'Moules frites au curry' and my boyfriend had steak. We both had desert, coffee ice cream for me and a plum tart for my boyfriend. The bill was around €50. We enjoyed it so much we returned for our last night.
