Was kim buay p at Monte Codeno a mag?
We booked a four night stay in a spacious two bedrooms apartment next to this hotel cum restaurant. Its location is great being near to the railway station and the pier for ferry ride to Bellagio and Menaggio. As we arrived quite late, we ate our dinner here. We had different kinds of fish and our meal for three cost 54 euros. It was a satisfying meal. We visited before 2016. View all feedback.

Breakfast is included and is OK. The downsides are there is no all night staff on site. After the guests checking in that day, the staff leaves. The staff speaks little or no English. Rooms at the front of hotel face the road and it is a frequently used road with a speed bump near the hotel, so leaving windows open is noisy. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in the room next to you. A sign in the room says the A/C goes on after 25 degrees C, but it was over 80F everyday and it never came on. Tried to ask about this and for a fan and but staff didn't understand.

Recently returned from Varenna and Hotel Montecodeno. What a true diamond in a gorgeous part of Italy. A family run Hotel that has mastered the art of customer service. We were not just guests, but felt more as invited family members. She made sure all was at our liking. From her home made breakfast to her tasty restaurant supper, my wife and I couldn't thank them enough. Knowing we had an early start to our last day, she actually made us a breakfast on the go to ensure we were well fed. Location was excellent and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I will surely return! Tony D'Aliesio

We had a wonderful meal here on our first night in Varenna. We loved the appetizer of dried fish with polenta, the pasta dish we ordered was one of the best we had on our whole trip, we had fish with sage and then ended with fantastic tiramisu. The restaurant filled up with local patrons so we realized we had chosen well!

Have just returned from a wonderful stay in Varenna. Hotel couldn't be better located 5 minute walk from the station and 2 minutes from the ferry and lake. Stayed in a spotless single room on the top floor with windows that open to allow fresh air. A highlight was the breakfast. Not a hot one but plentiful cold cheese, eggs, cereal etc with the best ham I have ever eaten and homemade croissants, cake and jam tarts. The kind hostess makes you fresh cappucino, coffee or tea. There is no kettle in the rooms so she gave me a pot of hot water and cup so that I could make my own tea. Only slight criticism is that my pillows were a bit hard and lumpy. This was an excellent budget hotel with great value for money.
