Faraway Suites: Guesthouse Restaurant Bar Coffeeshop

This is a nice hotel that includes a dormitory room. Beautiful waterfall pool and amazing view from the roof. Quiet, no party place. The staff is friendly and good at tours and transportation. Not super social. Dorm has no lock or keycard, large lockers look like they can be opened with just one Phillips screwdriver. No free breakfast with dormitory so you pay more than average for Vang Vieng but for a much more beautiful place. Very clean.

Room was brilliant big, open, modern. Bed was by far the best I have slept in in Laos in the 12 years I've been here. Staff were friendly and helpful. Absolutely brilliant price for what was provided. A little dusty in the room, but put that down to low occupancy during covid times. In saying that, stairs up to the third floor aren't ideal, especially if you have mobility issues. Staying with a young child is ok, but the common area on the ground floor is filled with cigarette smoke if someone lights up. Of an evening, the backpacker crowd hang around downstairs smoking weed and drinking to the wee hours of the morning... Standard for Vang Vieng, but something to consider if travelling with kids.

Very nice, new hotel, perfectly located (close to all the local attractions but on a quiet side street). We were lucky and got a room with two big windows with amazing views. Room was very nice and comfy (just a small fridge would be amazing). The staff/reception could be a bit more professional: smiling and attentive (saying hello/good morning/thanks/bye) is a basic thing in hospitality.

Probably the best hotel you can find Vang Vieng for this price! The hotel is well maintained, the rooms are spacious, bright and clean as the bathroom. As commented below, the beds are indeed extremely comfortable because they have the best duvets, mattresses etc. Last bust not least: There is a great view from the balcony when you create the suites on the mountains. Great hotel in Vang Vieng, location is perfect, facilities are great, the manager guy is really helpful and helped us in booking and laundry. Our room was perfect, very comfortable large bed, good air conditioning and fan, beautiful shower with great heat and pressure and immaculate clean. Nice swimming pool with Jacuzzi. Beautiful bar from the front with cheap beer. We will definitely stay back when we return to Vang Vieng!
