I ate here every day during my stay in vang vieng. mostly because I trusted this place about veganism more than others. her pumpkinsoup is really amazing! also I had the falafel with hummus and I loved it! make sure they clearly don't order a garlic sauce (maisonise.) View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mama Sababa:
falafels were bland and houmous ok. pita was very soft and warm. there were no other vegan dishes because there was no tofu. the waiter has not understood the word vegan, although a sign in the restaurant indicate vegan eating. View all feedback.
The falafels were not very flavorful and the houmous was average. The pita bread was pleasantly soft and warm. Unfortunately, there were no other vegan options on the menu due to the absence of tofu. Despite a sign in the restaurant indicating the availability of vegan food, the waiter seemed to have difficulty understanding the concept of veganism.
This restaurant offers a variety of clearly labeled vegan options, including hummus, falafel, fried rice/noodles with tofu, pasta, and pumpkin soup. The hummus has a good texture but is slightly bland, while the falafel is tasty but small in portion size. I found the hummus falafel dish to be a bit expensive for the portion size. I would recommend trying the fried rice/noodles with tofu instead, although the tofu may also be a bit bland. Be sure to confirm with the chef that the dish is made without eggs for the vegan version. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Overall, this restaurant is one of the few vegan-friendly options in Vang Vieng and is worth a try.
I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. The falafel were very dry and it was obvious that they were from a cheap, mass-produced package. The hummus had no taste and for the price of over $5, the portion was not even large. I would not recommend this place at all.
