Yagger's Downtown is a unique, nostalgic sports bar with friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. While some found the food average and the layout inconvenient, the bar offers decently priced drinks and a good selection of sports to watch. The service was praised for its speed and friendliness, making it a great spot for a casual meal or drinks while catching a game. Despite some minor drawbacks, Yagger's Downtown is a popular spot, especially for regulars, and offers a relaxed environment for a weekend evening out. Overall, this eclectic pub is worth a visit for a local craft beer and a cozy atmosphere.

Was Anonym at Yagger's a mag?
Walked to Yagger's downtown based on ratings for sports bar. A good 20 minute walk from waterfront and worth every calorie burned. The place was busy for just opening in a Sunday afternoon and the lone server took every challenge in stride. Enjoyed some local draft, devoured a great home made burger and enjoyed an afternoon hockey game. I suspect this place has a lot of regulars and would be a great stop on a weekend... What Anonym dislikes about Yagger's:
An eclectic nostalgia bar. Some would call it old and dated. The good news is that the food is decent for pub food and it's quite well priced. Sat at the bar and the service was very good. Must admit I could have rated the place a 3 or maybe a 4, but when I saw all the "5" votes I had to give it some balance for people wanting to get a fair review. The place is not a 5. Having said that have a local craft beer (decen... View all feedback.
When birthday season comes, there 's always a scramble for a place with enough seating. (Yes, I live in a universe where the motto is 'the more, the merrier ' . For the past years, I 've tried The Hub and Yaletown Brewing at Yaletown and Tap and Barrel at Olympic Village, which have been great places (if you 're looking for a pub for a big gathering . The last birthday was held in Yaggers Downtown. <br/ <br/ Food/Drinks: Some of the better pub food I 've eaten. Would reco whatever you find interesting on their menu. We ordered quite a bit and they were all pretty good. We had the albacore tuna wonton tacos, which were crisp and refreshing. (an outlier for greasy pub food . <br/ <br/ Ambience: Well, it doesn 't stand out ambience wise. Tap and Barrel was more sophisticated. Yaggers is more of a sports bar, with big tv screens and a bar or drinks. <br/ <br/ Service: Really good. Our server came into the room quite regularly to ask if we had additional drink or food orders. And super kudos to her, especially as it was all separate bills and everyone was moving around. <br/ <br/ BONUS: They have a private room at the back of the pub for big groups. AND IT 'S FREE. You just have to call in and fill in a reservation form. <br/ <br/ Transport: Take the Canada Line, get down at waterfront station and you could either walk or take a bus. I would recommend walking though. It 's about a 10 minute walk and the way there is peppered with other cafes/restos you can note for next time 's food adventure.
This is a great place to relax and hang out and their back room is mega spacious. I was there as part of a Meetup event that went on till late at night and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Beer prices were not bad, either! Definitely recommended.
Some places have daily food specials, so if there's something you are interested in, or if you feel the regular prices there are daunting, you can try going on a particular day. Yagger's Downtown has a special every day, and on Wednesdays it is Pulled Pork Tacos at $2.29 each with purchase of a drink.
Fantastic Venue for a Special Occasion! The venue is truly exceptional! I booked their back room for my birthday celebration in January and I was impressed by the assistance I received from their customer service representatives and staff. Despite it being a busy night, everyone working that evening went above and beyond to ensure that everyone in my group was well taken care of. The food was all delicious and the prices for food and drinks were reasonable for downtown. I highly recommend Yaggers and plan on returning in the future!
