My wife and I ate at this restaurant as I had seen good reviews on this site. We were not disappointed. We both opted for fish courses and the standard of the food was very good the service excellent. Normally we would try different restaurants during a short stay but we decided to go back the next night and again were very impressed with the fish dishes and service. The grill is well used by locals as well as visito... View all feedback.
What Glennie Olson doesn't like about WildTale Coastal Grill:
Came for dinner this evening. My wife had the halibut dish and I had the po' boy pulled pork sliders. The service was very fast and friendly... The food could have been better. Very little meat in the sliders, and the fish was overcooked. View all feedback.
It's a sunny day and the restaurant didn't open for brunch for another half an hour. They kindly sat us down, with water and a cup of coffee to drink, as the bar was still getting set up. We sat outside in their outdoor patio. A beautiful set up. Our table ordered the Kobe burgers and the smoked salmon bennies. Absolutely no regrets! Prices are decent and the food was so delicious! The fries that came with the burgers were fried to perfection. I ate every single fry on my plate and I'm particular about my fries. We especially loved the salad/dressing that accompanied every plate. They used thinly sliced julienne beets (which I never liked beets) and wowsa, one fantastic tasting salad! The smoked salmon bennies was an "instant hit" too. While we were waiting for the food, every table got a complimentary plate of four small slices of banana bread. How great was that? The first time we came earlier in the year, it was cute little cornbread muffins. We had even asked for another plate of those! My favourite drink was their rosé sangria. Perfect drink for a sunny day. We were even had leftovers to bring home! A fabulous dining experience had by one and all. WildTale Coastal Grill comes highly recommended with fantastic food & service. One of the best top-notch restaurants in Yaletown, bar none.
Super nice staff, and really delicious food. Definitely order the prawns if you can. Wonderful happy hour and very pleasant outdoor seating. Would recommend!
My wife and I were visiting Vancouver as part of a touring holiday in Canada. We went out walking around the restaurants in Yaletown looking for a fishy place and picked this restaurant pretty much at random. We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated quickly despite it being very busy. The waitress was knowledgeable and explained the various dishes on offer as being English some of the fish was not familiar. The bar also stocks a range of locally brewed -beers and being unfamiliar with any of them the waitress offered small tastings to determine what I would like. These small glasses were promptly brought to the table and I was pleased to find a beer not too dissimilar to that I could find at home in the UK. The fish dishes we ordered for starters and main course were all excellently prepared cooked and served. This with the whole ambiance of the restaurant will make me return to this restaurant if we find ourselves in Vancouver in the future. Strongly recommended to anyone who likes good seafood.

As a Concierge, I set up a reservation for two clients who wanted to go somewhere different. I immediately thought of Chef Smith's creativity and without hesitation made the reservation for 7pm on a Saturday night. Upon arrival, they were greeted and seated on the busy patio and enjoyed people watching and Chef Smith passed by and asked what they were going to order and they asked him to cook for them. He agreed and asked if there was anything they preferred or didn't like. They told him to cook for them and as they were from Regina, they were looking forward to Oysters and Seafood. I popped in to check on them because I was curious for their feedback and we had built a rapport. They couldn't thank me enough for this recommendation, they were floored by the service they received from the initial greeting all the way to the last step off the property. They started with 3 different types of raw oysters with mignionettes and hot sauce. After this dish, they were presented by a beautiful dish of Tuna 3 ways which I took a picture of, it was a shame we had to eat it because the plate had such a beautiful presentation. Afterwards, they had a beautiful plate of fresh Halibut with lobster tail and gnocci. I couldn't stay to see what dessert was but each plate was presented in such an artistic way and made each dish so appealing that tables around them kept asking..."what is that?" The wine and cocktail list is exceptional and as a Concierge with an Airline, I will definitely be recommending and sending more of my clients to this restaurant...Chef Andrew Smith delivered and went above and beyond in every way and the floor staff followed through with the attentive yet non intrusive service...great job to this restaurant. I am planning my 50th birthday party there in the next couple of weeks...
