Virtuous Pie - Vancouver
Virtuous Pie
Description
In a vibrant, modern setting, this vegan restaurant offers a unique take on classic dishes, particularly its pizzas. While some visitors praised the innovative flavors, such as the walnut pesto and nut-based cheese, others criticized the slow service and high prices, especially for smaller portions. The self-serve model, intended to enhance convenience, often led to lapses in customer care, like missing plates and lengthy wait times for food. Despite mixed reviews on the overall experience, the ambiance and commitment to fresh, local ingredients resonate with diners, making it a noteworthy destination for plant-based cuisine enthusiasts.

Cafeteria style where you wait at a counter to order and take a number. We ordered two pizzas. It took 30 miniutes to have the order filled. The pizzas were expensive for what you got $15 $16 for a 10” pizza skimpy on toppings).
I can only comment on their vegan ice cream, but the Vietnamese coffee was exceptional. The serving size may vary depending on who serves you.
I had several issues when I visited this restaurant. The service was very slow, with the mac and cheese coming out quickly but the pizza taking a long time. As a non-vegan who has tried many vegan restaurants, I found the texture of the pizza to be unpleasant, with a crispy crust and a thick, gelatinous layer on top that seemed to mimic cheese. The restaurant encourages customers to pay online with their phones, but this means you have to tip before receiving your service. The portions were small and expensive, and the mac and cheese was overly saucy, resembling more of a cheese sauce with macaroni floating in it. They even ran out of drinking glasses. Despite these issues, my vegan companion enjoyed the pizza, and I personally liked the garlic knots.
I ordered the ultraviolet pizza and cookie skillet at this restaurant and it was phenomenal! I am so grateful for the clean and delicious food that this place serves.
