The menu includes well-balanced options such as light and delicious pizzas, craft beers, and wines that are fairly priced. While the service can sometimes be slow, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The place is perfect for a visit after a day at Stanley Park or for a late-night snack, offering a variety of food options, including burgers and salads. Overall, The Upper Deck provides a pleasant dining experience with good food and a nice selection of beers in a convenient location.
Looking from outside on Davie´s busy street you just don´t expect much from the place, however there´s always a friendly hostess sitting by the small entrance door and you can see the charming patio lights from the sidewalk. If you are looking for a stylish patio, a casual atmosphere and a great location, that´s the place to go! But before you get to the patio, you will walk through a sports bar and comfortable family sized dinner tables, pub style. The menu is well balanced but my favourites are the pizzas (so light and delicious) and fairly priced craft beer and wine. The staff is very friendly, but the service sometimes can be a little slow on busy days. It is definitely worth trying!
My friend and I stopped here after a day at Stanley Park. I had the Margarita Pizza and she had a Cesar Salad and Pasta with shrimp. The service was a little slow as they were quite busy. The waitress was friendly though. The crust on my pizza was too thick but the rest of it was ok. My food was ok but not amazing and my friend enjoyed her dish as well. It did the trick but I felt strangely unsatisfied by the lack of taste in the meal. So, it was somewhat of a forgettable experience but it did the trick in a hurry. The drinks looked fun though.
Went here for a drink and some food during pride. The server was lovely and super friendly. Blonde girl with cute glasses. The calamari was ok, the risotto balls were lukewarm with very little flavour. The pizza dough was tasteless and a bit chewy. Service was great food was not. It's only other feature is the location and the "upper deck" it has.
Late night on Davie st most places are closed at 11:00pm not the upper deck. So I dropped in for a pizza. Decided to try the Mexican bulldog double. It's a margarita with a coronita in it. Pretty tasty to my surprise. The server is very friendly and helped pick my pizza the fungi! Fitting really. The bulldog burps out a little beer with ever sip. I've seen these before but it's my first one. To add to the pizza I have dry chillies and a homemade chilli oil. The pizza is a thin crust and I can smell the truffle of super hot and delicious. Lots of mushrooms
Friendly and courteous staff, great food and selection of beers. Nicely located on Davie St., with a good view of the people outside. Always some sports on the t.v. and the music is good as well.
