We were looking for a restaurant on a Friday nearby my new job, and stumbled upon Toko Restaurant. Originally, we thought it was a Japanese restaurant based upon it's name; however it was a Chinese restaurant with a wide menu of items, and very reasonable prices. It looked like regulars go on a Friday night. The service was fantastic, better than the Earls types etc. Our order came out within 4 minutes of ordering, a... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Toko Restaurant:
This is the third time this has happened so three strike rule! I ordered Singapoer Vermicelli but NO MEAT- Vegetarian ONLY. They give me my order and inside it's awash with shrimp, pork, egg, ALL THE THINGS I SPECIFICALLY ASKED TO NOT BE PUT IN! The lady whom I ordered it for was hugely disappointed and I'd had trouble here before with Vegetarian dishes. I called them up and - no apology, just "well, people make mist... View all feedback.
This small, side street restaurant offers a surprisingly large menu selection. Food is tasty
I went in for the chicken lettuce wraps, the beef chow Mein and a veggie egg roll. All were excellent and abundant portions. My order was ready on time and hot.
This is a great spot. Do you ever crave for a spot that when you don't feel like cooking or want a good meal before a play, concert or game? Toko hits the mark. Food is always good and the ladies who serve are fantastic. They wonderful Jasmine tea that is brewed into thermos pots and served hot. No small china pots with over strong, bitter tea. We go to this place before most soccer or football games and then walk across the bridge to BC Place. No game tonight but one if those situations where we were looking for "old reliable." House special chow mein is a large dish with fried noodles and sauce with chicken, BBQ pork, squid, shrimp, mushrooms and book choy. It is our favorite. Next was sweet and sour pork which was boneless and nicely tangy. We then had beef with Chinese broccoli (gai lan.) The gai lan was crispy but cooked through and the beef was plentiful and well flavored. Fantastic service as always and very reasonable. We didn't drink tonight but they always have beer specials. In the summer you can eat outside on the patio. Enjoy!

We definitely will be back.
Ever since Amsterdam, I've been on a search for good Chicken Ramen soup. I've gone to Toko twice now, and it reminds me that it's important to try those little out-of-the way places more often. This is a simple restaurant, nothing fancy. The chairs are a bit worn and the place is kind of dark, but the service is friendly and the ramen is worth going for. The broth is plentiful and delicious - worth slurping up to the last drop if you're not too full from eating all the delicious noodles and nicely prepared chicken that is nestled so deliciously within it. It was a perfect rainy Vancouver day lunch. I'll go back soon.
