Contribute FeedbackPoint Grill at UBC campus offers a mixed dining experience. While some customers have complained about rude and unprofessional staff, others have enjoyed the affordable menu options like the spicy chicken wrap and steak. The atmosphere may not be to everyone's taste, but the restaurant provides a modern and upmarket option on campus. Overall, the service and food quality seem to vary, with some customers praising the friendly staff and enjoyable meals, while others warn against poor service and bland food. For UBC students looking for a convenient on-campus dining option, Point Grill offers a diverse menu at reasonable prices.
Okay, before I start my review of the food, I have the saying that you have the best cheesecake I've ever had in my life. It was her turtle cheesecake...
As I have already said in previous reviews, it is nice to have this sit-down restaurant in this part of the campus where there are not many possibilities for a full service...
Had some garlic fries here and they were too salty! the staff went over my choice of the top while I went, really unprofessional...
The Point Grill is conveniently located near Marine Drive residences on the University of British Columbia's Vancouver campus. The patio is the ideal spot for dining on clear days, with friendly servers who prioritize cleanliness. As a vegetarian, the only burger option available was the Buffalo Chickpea Burger, made with a chickpea patty and served with fries or salad and a jalapeno. The burger is large, satisfying, and priced at $13.85 after tax. I have enjoyed it multiple times and highly recommend it! Be sure to give it a try.
It was okay. I haven't eaten at a university diner since I graduated in 1992, and back then it was just cafeteria food. I was disappointed that they were sold out of the pork bites in homemade honey garlic sauce that I wanted, but they were able to make the wings in the sauce instead, which was great since I don't like spicy food. I also ordered the farmer's greens to be healthy. The honey garlic sauce was fantastic, although the wings were small but tasty, not worth the $10 price tag. The salad was large and filling, but also overpriced at $9. The beer was cold and the server was knowledgeable about the specials. The restaurant was a bit loud, likely due to its location in a university building not designed for soundproofing. Overall, the service was great and the food met my needs. If I find myself at UBC again for business, I would consider returning.
